Home Page

The store home page displays a list of featured products and product favorites by default. Like all HostedStore content pages, this page can be modified to display other information in addition to or instead of the default information.

Featured Products

The product management area in store administration is used to flag products to be featured on the home page. Featured products can be arbitrarily assigned and need not correspond to something special like sale pricing or limited quantities available. The total number of featured products displayed can be easily modified in the store configuration.

Each product displays with a thumbnail image and the name of the product, both of which provide a link to the product detail page where more information can be provided for the customer to make a purchase decision.

Favorites

Favorites are automatically determined by HostedStore by finding the products that have sold the highest number of units historically. Product favorites can be self-reinforcing in nature if products are purchased often due to their placement on the home page. Essentially resulting in favorite products always remaining favorite products. The total number of favorites to display can be easily modified in the store configuration.

As with featured products, each favorite displays with a thumbnail image and the name of the product, both of which provide a link to the product detail page where more information can be provided for the customer to make a purchase decision.
