Reports

Several reports are provided to give the store manager insight into store operations. If a report is needed but is not currently offered, the a request can be made that it is added. Is is also possible to create a module that generates the report and insert it into the store administration module menu. For more complex store operations it is recommended that a third-party reporting tool is used.

A summary of some of the reports available is provided below.

Sales

Total sales can be listed by source, status, day, hour, product, category, category and product, department, department and product, manufacturer, manufacturer and product, customer, customer with itemized orders, country, state/province, country itemized by state/province, shipping country, shipping state/province, shipping country itemized by state/province, promotion, affiliate, and affiliate with itemized orders for the specified date range broken down by the number of orders, number of items purchased, subtotal, and percentage of sales.

Sales Tax

Total sales tax collected for the specified date range broken down by the number of orders, number of items purchased, subtotal, percentage of sales, and amount of sales tax collected for each taxing state/province.

Admin Adjustments, Itemized

Details order discount, subtotal adjustment, shipping adjustment, tax adjustment, and discount adjustment for all orders that have discounts or adjustments for the time period.

Batch Reports

A list of all settled orders, settled orders by batch, and unsettled orders for the specified date range.

Image Library

Provides a detailed listing of products entered in the store catalog, products that are available for sale, and which images have been uploaded to the Web server. If a product is selling in the store, then a warning message will be displayed if one or more of the thumbnail, detail, or zoom images are missing. Messages will also appear for products that have images missing but are not currently selling in the store and for products that have images but have not been entered into the database.

This repost can be used as a reference to determine which products still need images and which products still need to be entered into the database. Warning messages are displayed for problems that may affect store aesthetics so those issues should be addressed immediately.

Missing Images

Provides a listing of products that are in the product database, but are missing images. This report is a variation of the image library report. The same information is reported, but only for products that are missing images. If the store has been configured to use zoom images, then a product will be reported as missing an image if the thumbnail, detail, or zoom image is missing. Otherwise, a product will be reported as missing an image if the thumbnail or detail image is missing.

Suggested Inventory Order

Provides the current inventory, current build to quantity, and the suggested order quantity (difference between the build to and current inventory) for products that have a current inventory less than the buid to amount.

This report is simply a guideline that may or may not be useful depending upon how inventory is ordered for any given business. The historical product sales are also detailed in the report in case that will affect the ordering decision.

Search to Sales Conversion

Provides the number of times each product has shown up in search results, the number of times the product detail page has been viewed, the number of times the product has been added to a shopping cart, and the quantity of the product that has been sold. Percentages to show conversion rate between each of the columns are also provided.

This report can be used to provide insight into which products are more successful in making it through the entire search to view to cart to checkout process. This may provide useful information to determine how to modify products that have had limited success in making it through the entire process.

Affiliate Referrals Conversion

Provides the number of times a hyperlink with an affiliate ID has been clicked. Further breaks down number of orders that result, percentages, etc to help determine the success of individual affiliates and the affiliate program in general.

General Store Statistics

Provides a snapshot summary of orders, customers, affiliates, and products. Orders are summarized by the number of orders, number of ordered items, discounts, and number of customers and affiliates. Customers are summarized by number of orders, address books, wishlists, and other criteria. Affiliates are summarized by their current status and number of orders. Products are summarized by their status and type. The aggregate total of search, view, cart, and sold data (same stats as the Search to Sale Conversion report) for products is also shown.

This report can be used in many different ways. One use is to determine how individual features in the store are being utilized. For example, the number of address books and wishlist provides insight into whether or not those features are being used by the existing customer base. If not, then maybe the customers need to be made aware of the feature and the advantage of using it.
