Store Templates
HostedStore uses a template file to determine the overall look and feel
of the storefront. The templates are a convenience so that only a single
set of modifications needs to be made to change the entire store look, much
like how a style sheet can be used to change the way information is displayed
across an entire site or within specific areas of a site.
HostedStore ships with seven store templates that can be used as is or
modified. Most are simple color and graphic variations of each other.
Using an existing template is simply a matter of selecting the template
in the store configuration, replacing a blank image file with the company
logo, and making any necessary changes to the style sheet.
Users are also able to create their own templates. In fact, creating a
template is encouraged so that the company image is properly conveyed.
And honestly, we cannot say that our templates contain the best HTML ever
written.
Creating a template is simply a matter of creating a single page that
contains all of the elements that should appear on every page of the store
and then substituting in the path information for image files. This probably
sounds a little more cumbersome than it really is. Detailed instructions
are provided in the HostedStore documentation. If any problems are
encountered we and other HostedStore users are here to help with
free support!
